Caring For Young Minds Black College Tour

 Each year, Caring for Young Minds takes a group of 230 high school students on a week-long college tour of several HBCUs.  This year, the tour will include: Virginia Union, Virginia State, Saint Paul's College, North Carolina Central,  North Carolina A & T, Bennett, Tuskegee, Florida A & M, Bethune Cookman. Last day of the tour, tour participants will enjoy a Walt Disney World Theme Park (Orlando, Florida)! The 23rd Annual Black College Tour

ETS is a tour group that's been featured on TV (ABC), and has been around for a long time.  Tour A visits Bennett, Clark - Atlanta, Hampton, Howard, Johnson C. This tour is co-sponsored by the Long Branch, New Jersey Housing Authority and the Department of Recreation. The tour will visit Johnson C. Based in San Jose, CA

Dates: March 26-March 30, 2008


This HBCU tour departs from San Jose International Airport and visits an impressive array of schools each year. Schools to be visited: Clark Atlanta, Morehouse, Spelman, Alabama State, and Tuskegee. The Martin Luther King Center Ð Atlanta, GA and Dexter Avenue Baptist Church in Montgomery, AL. Total cost: $1,025. The director is Carl Ray who started a Youth Opportunity Program in East Palo Alto in 1968 and began recruiting youth to attend HBCUs in 1970; then undertook sponsoring tours to the colleges.  To date, he has chaperoned more than 2,000 students on HBCU tours.
